Invitalia, the national development Agency, is a governmental body that has been appointed for the implementation of the Program for Environmental Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration of the Bagnoli area on the western border of Naples. Bagnoli covers about 2.5 square kilometers and hosted one of the largest European steelworks plant, which shut down in 1993.
Following this approval, Invitalia has launched the international competition for the design of the new landscape of the whole area inviting the best architectural firms with significant design experience in urban design of landscapes, urban parks and waterfronts.
To imagine the future landscape (particularly the urban park and the waterfront) of the new Bagnoli area, the participants must also define the shape and design of new buildings according to the volumes foreseen in the urban development plan.
Applications must be submitted by 11:00 on the 12th of November 2019.
