Performance Architecture is an international ideas competition temporary urban interventions in Guimarães, Portugal. The competition intends to draw up architectural and urban strategies that, in reactivating performance art approaches, provide new directions as to the roles of architects, landscapers artists and designers in the urban context.

The participants may be Portuguese or foreign, with no age limit. Teams with no maximum number of members may participate, and must include in their formation at least two different disciplinary fields (for example architecture and design, art and architecture, design and sociology, etc…).

The prizes for the several equal winners are made up of a financial award destined to carry out the proposals, as well as complementing logistical support by the organisation.

The prize, consisting of 12.000,00 eur (including vat) corresponds to fee and kick-start financing for the production of the project. Proposed budgets may be complemented with other financial resources, coming from sponsorship or material aids that teams may manage to gather in order to improve or expand final results, if considered necessary.
