Tools and machines wearing down the environment, orthogonal geometries, cuts on the edge of stability. Scraped material, lines, perforations, erosions. Volume extracted in blocks and sheets.
Pure rock cut sharp, water accumulated in its bed, large areas of yellowish stony material. The architecture of the void, the negative of which creates a new space with an industrial language but with natural material.
Totally vertical walls, asymmetric cuts, geometric cracks, slopes which come one after another, coming face to face with an orthogonal profile, the edge retracing the marks of the land. The remains of another mechanisation, manual, which produced smaller blocks, now piled up, abandoned. Worn at the edges.
Cuts in the ground bring us news from inside the earth. Layers of different forces and materials, drawn diagonally; folds of material which break up the geometry, various pieces taken apart, alternating textures. In full sunlight and at the mercy of air and water, they show us their physical properties, their weaknesses, their capacity for extremes.
