Like any other natural space, they provide society wuth a number of goods and services that have a positive effect on its well-being and that can be grouped into valuable functions (flood control, refilling of aquifers, etc.), products (fishing, recreation, etc.) and attributes (biodiversity, landscape and cultural heritage).
