The ” II INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP ” is to be held at the Escuela de Arquitectura (School of Architecture) at the University of Malaga on 12th to 16th of July 2010.
The course is focused to analyze an urban environment, and its urbanistic, architectural and landscape proposal. The project is provided in all scales and joins the theoretical and practical reflection in order to provide value to the project.
The landscape is a cross-sectional dimension of the project and is seen as a key to understanding the city and its complexity. So the proposal will transcend the functional solution of the local problems , helping to find out an answer to integrate the project in the city.
Through the analysis of specific issues, we will analyze the aims problems and solutions at different scales by professional point of view.
This will be a Workshop where theory and practice go hand in hand during the devising of a specific PROJECT on an urban element within the city of Malaga. The aim here is to conceive the discipline of architecture and town planning as the two inseparable sides of the same coin, where the PROJECT itself forms the basis for a reflection on the art of building a city and its landscape on all kinds of urban and territorial scales.
