MEXICO CITY COMPETITION

The Public Space Authority at the request of Digital School , training center in digital design invites all students and young architects to 4th architectural ideas competition ” Urban Intervention , San Juan Square Chinatown, Historic Center of Mexico City ” to develop a proposal for improvement of public space, contributing to a new culture for their rescue.

Participation

Open to all professionals related to architecture (architects , planners, landscape architects , designers, etc. . ) And students from related fields (architecture, urbanism, landscape , etc. . ) . Interdisciplinary teams can also take part in the contest.

Contest Objective

Fostering a culture for recovery of public spaces that suffer urban blight problems , road , street trading , detriment in quality of habitat, underutilization and unsuitable uses , in order to promote best practice in urban design and planning , which promote improvements in the quality of life for city users .

Specific Objectives

• Make a proposal to transform the public space is formed between the San Juan Market and Chinatown , including the Plaza del Buen Tono .

• To disseminate and promote best examples of reclaiming public spaces , promoting and deepening the exchange of experiences.

• Establish and empower local program needs .

• Design strategies to promote cultural and commercial improvement of public space.

Project Delivery

All proposals must be sent to intervencionurbana@escueladigital.com.mx day later than March 24, 2014 in a range of 24 hrs, when Mexico City .

Note: Only one proposal may be sent by registration. That is, if a participant wishes to submit more than one proposal , you must make another record with the corresponding payment. If the proposal submitted does not comply with all specified in these Rules , shall not be evaluated.
