Competition: FUTURE MAGAZINE
FUTURE is launching, for third consecutive year, an international ideas competition to identify the best design concepts with the challenge to develop visionary urban proposals with the intention of stimulating contemporary cities, in this case 2 different locations: Harbin and Vigo. The aim of the competition is to offer opportunities, for all architecture students and young architects around the world that are not always available through other selection methods. Significant architects have launched their careers because their designs were selected as the winning schemes.
Competition type
The open competition is single-phase and anonymous.
Participants (teams) may take part in the competition if they meet the following requirements:
* Participants taking part in the competition shall be architecture students or architects under 35 years old on the closing date for submission of entries (November 22, 2013).
* Teams participating in the competition shall have at least one architecture student or architect under 35 on the closing date for submission of entries, who will be the team leader.
* Teams may also include young professionals from other disciplines.

Until November 16, 2013 – Submission and Answer of Questions
November 22, 2013 – Submission deadline
Until December 1, 2013 – National Juries. Shortlist announcement (maximum 10 per site)
December 12, 2013 – International jury. Awards
It is required to REGISTER to enter the competition. Entrants may either make a submission individually or as a team.
Participants can register before November 15, 2013 (24:00h local Spanish time):

*3. After your registration, FUTURE will provide a confirmation email and a 5 digit code which must be included on all entry panels.
Awards
Winning entrants will receive cash prizes totalling 7500€ in each site: Harbin and Vigo.
Winning entrants will receive cash prizes with distribution as follows:
First prize: 3500 Euros (Taxes included)
Second prize: 2000 Euros (Taxes included)
2 mentions: 1000 Euros each one (Taxes included)
6 finalists: as acknowledgment
Digital Presentation Format
Entries must be sent to concursos@arqfuture.com by November 22, 2013, (24:00h local Spanish time) with the following requirements:
* 2 vertical A1 format panels in Portable Document Format (PDF) below 6MB each.
* Each presentation should include (but are not limited to) the following required drawings: site plan, floor plans; elevations and building sections sufficient to show site context and major program elements; a three-dimensional representation in the form of either an axonometric, perspective, or renders, one of which should illustrate the character of the project; and a short text describing the most important concepts of the design project
* The names of the participants MUST NOT appear on the boards. Only the code provided to each entrant by email should appear on the right.
* The competition contributions must be submitted in English.
* Once the boards are sent additional edits, uploads, or changes CANNOT be made.
* Once the boards are successfully uploaded, each participant will receive a confirmation email.
Jury
A A national jury (in Spain and China) will meet before December 1, 2013 and examine all the entries submitted for each site. The national juries will shortlist a maximum of 10 entries for each location.
B An international jury will meet in Vigo, Spain on December 12, 2013 to choose the winning and honourable entries and finalists from the first selection made by the national juries.
