A space to observe, to walk, to enjoy… where you can dream, that was what the Allariz Council entrusted the municipal technical services; designing a unique project, (the first in Spain), an innovative and hoping one.
This singular initiative in Galiza and Spain tries to offer all the inhabitants the possibility to enjoy a new recovered space in the right bank of the Arnoia River. The creation of this public space is a big step for the achievement of the Thematic Corridor of the Arnoia River, which considers the river an element of identity, leisure, nature enjoyment and also an economic boost one.
Allariz International Garden Festival is, without question, a good example of the imagination and creativity that Allariz beauty inspires.
In this 4th edition, proposals chosen by the jury, led by Francisco Caldeira Cabral, show Allariz as a propitious place for creativity, inspiration, imagination… Allariz is a source of wealth regarding initiatives and imaginative projects. Certainly, they have to do with harmony, with Allariz beauty and with its role as a source of inspiration. Proposals from Galicia, France, Holland, Basque Country, Canary Islands, Austria, Portugal and Spain show their view based on the beauty and the inspiration evoked by Allariz.
Allariz International Garden Festival has grown to become a great tourist attraction, encouraging local economy and bringing together professionals of gardening and landscaping sectors. In this edition, joining art and nature, a sculpture exhibition has been incorporated, allowing the artists to use this privileged space as a stage to show their works.
The contest subject for 2014 edition will be “GARDENS OF PLENTY”. Proposals can be submitted until 15th November and they must evoke the abundance of feelings that gardens suggest as relaxing and well-being places, as propitious areas for body and soul relaxation, contemplation, imagination… and also as an antidote to the socio-economic crisis we suffer from and that we want to fight using criticism of austerity against the welfare state.
Therefore, I want to invite you, one more year, to enjoy our International Garden Festival and Allariz inspiring beauty, which makes imagination and senses arouse.
