Trini Simó Garden Contest Result. Valencia. Spain
The design of the Trini Simó garden will create a green superblock in the center of Valencia inspired by the orchard.
“Bardissa” is the name of the winning project in the competition to design the future Trini Simó Garden, on the Jesuit site, inspired by the Valencian orchard. A new “green lung” and an “emblematic space” for Valencia that will incorporate the three elements of the agricultural landscape: orchards, paths and ditches, as well as hedges —in Valencian bardisses— or aromatic plantations. Thus begins the process to create a green superblock that will articulate the Botanical Garden in continuity with the Garden of the Hesperides, the Ferran el Catòlic great road, the adjacent pedestrian streets, the space of the San José school, the Petxina promenade and the Garden of the Turia.
The City Council has awarded the proposal of the office of the architect Carmel Gradolí.
