Article 02, paisea 022. Project “green to play” | Martí Franch, Dorien Van Roosendael
GREEN TO PLAY institutional and participatory initiative encourages and supports the rehabilitation of outdated playgrounds into natural Playgrounds at extremely low-cost. The already acknowledged qualities inherent to playing with nature, exploration, adventure, informality, etc. find in this project a procedure that enables an active process of co-conception and co-construction of natural playgrounds by providing advice, know-how, design and some funding to Flemish Youth Organisations.
‘When children play in a rich environment with lots of natural elements to use, they will learn lots of things in an informal way. They are triggered to behave creative, ecological and social and to develop their skills in several domains while experimenting and investigating.’‘Due to a mix of high quality natural elements (living and not living) and a child centered approach to architectural design, children can find a true paradise to live and play in.’
