In Latin America we can find two examples of realities which, as well as being “artistic neighbourhoods” in the urban, cultural and social sense, add a further dimension: the neighbourhoods themselves are the works of art being displayed. These places are the Museo a Cielo Abierto (“Museum Under the Sky”) in Valparaiso and Caminito in Buenos Aires.
Museo a Cielo Abierto (MACA), Bellavista Hill, Valparaíso (Chile) The MACA is made up of a series of 20 abstract murals designed by renowned artists, scattered around different areas on Bellavista Hill.
