A domestic garden is by definition a garden of small dimensions limited to the familiar, intimate, exclusive surroundings of the house’s inhabitants. It already used to be like this in the houses of Pompeii at the beginning of the Roman Empire or in the secret gardens of the luxurious villas of the italian Renaissance, and it has stayed like this until today, unchanged, in the domestic gardens of the 21st century.
