SOL Competition

Linazasoro & Sanchez was the winner of the design competition study and theoretical reflection of the Madrid Puerta del Sol (There is no commitment to build the town hall)

Was the jury, chaired by the same Ana Botella, Madrid mayor who has opted for the proposed El Sol del Membrillo, among the 146 submitted. A neat alternative that reorganizes the most symbolic elements of the square. Place two terraces and a fountain in the center.

The 24,000 euros were for the Madrid studio, second prize (9, 000) was to stop Martinez Luis Santamaría , third prize (6,000 euros) but I shared the three honorable mentions “Mondays in the Sun,” Joseph Manuel Calvo and José Manuel de Andrés ; «Watch Sun” by José María Sánchez García , and “Puerto Sol” Francisco Alonso de Santos.
