Six finalists selected for Zaryadye Park design (Moscow)
Zaryadye Park Design Competition – the first public park built in Moscow for over 50 years. The organisers have announced that the received over 90 entries of which 87 teams were eligible for entry. The list of team leaders shows that there is great interest from around the world with many of the teams having a track record of winning major design competitions including Atelier Dreiseitl, Bjarke Ingels Group(BIG), Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Grant Associates, GROSS. MAX, Gustafson Porter, HASSELL, James Corner Field Operations, Mecanoo International, Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, MVRDV, OKRA, Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten, REX Architecture, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill(SOM), SWA Group, TOPOTEK 1, Turenscape, W Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Zaha Hadid and 66 other teams.
The jury held an eight-hour long meeting the Jury and selected six teams out of 90 applications. The main criteria was composition of a consortium, consisting of representatives of various specialties, and consortium portfolio. On 27 September 2013 the six participants will provide landscape and architectural concepts for Zaryadye park. After the technical expertise these projects will be presented to the Jury early November 2013. And later on the Winner will be involved in implementation of the project.
MAIN DATES
Until May 22: receiving and registering applications.
17 June: Shortlist of six teams for the second stage to be announced.
1 July – 27 September: Shortlisted candidates developing their projects.
1 November – 12 November: Winner to be selected.
